These terms govern use of the Arab Canada website and owner panel. By browsing, creating an account, submitting a listing, claiming a page, posting a review, sending a lead, or buying Featured placement, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
Arab Canada is a multilingual directory for Arab-owned and Arab-serving businesses in Canada. It is not a marketplace, not a booking engine, and not a law, medical, or immigration practice. Listings, events, and articles are informational. Always verify hours, licensing, and advice with the business itself.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your password confidential. Google or Apple sign-in creates a member account only; it does not make you a business owner. Owner accounts are created on the owner registration form. Staff may deactivate accounts that break these terms. You may not register if you are under 14.
Business pages, claims, and verification
Owners may submit a new listing or claim an unowned published page. Submissions stay unpublished until staff review them. You may not set publish status, Featured, verified, or indexation flags yourself. A verified badge appears only after staff accept a claim. You confirm you have the right to represent the business and that names, addresses, phone numbers, photos, and descriptions are accurate. Halal and community tags must not be used to mislead.
Reviews, leads, and your content
You keep ownership of text and files you submit, and you grant Arab Canada a non-exclusive licence to host, moderate, translate UI labels around, and display that content in the directory. Reviews must be genuine experiences; we may refuse or remove them. Do not review your own listing. Leads are private messages to the owner, not public comments. Do not use leads or reviews for spam, harassment, or illegal offers. We may keep copies for abuse investigation.
Featured placement
Featured is a paid sort boost of the same public listing. The badge and order are identical for visitors and search engines. Checkout is processed by Stripe in Canadian dollars as shown at payment. Fees are generally non-refundable once the placement is activated, except where consumer law requires otherwise. Featured ends on the date shown in the owner panel or when staff remove it. We do not guarantee rankings, traffic, or leads.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape the directory in bulk, overload the service, post malware, impersonate others, or publish discriminatory, defamatory, or unlawful content. Do not cloak listings or buy a second URL that hides the same business from users versus crawlers. Staff may reject, unpublish, or deactivate content and accounts.
Intellectual property
The Arab Canada name, maple-leaf mark, layout, and original editorial copy belong to the operator. You may not copy the site design or scrape listing text to build a competing directory. Businesses keep their own names and logos; by uploading them you warrant you may grant us the licence above.
Availability and liability
We provide the service “as is.” Search, maps, and translations may be incomplete. English and French pages are indexed only when a human translation is complete. We are not liable for decisions you make based on a listing, for disputes between visitors and businesses, or for outages. To the extent Canadian law allows, our total liability for a claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Featured in the three months before the claim, or fifty Canadian dollars if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived, including Quebec consumer protections where they apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which the dispute is heard, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Canada have exclusive jurisdiction, except that Quebec residents may use the courts of Quebec. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. The date at the top is the current version. If you continue to use Arab Canada after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions go to the Contact us page.
